Introduction
Our school
It has been 14 years since Kansa International Academy was birthed in Nagata, Higashiosaka city. The reason the school started was because I found no kindergarten where I was comfortable sending my eldest son. I thought, why not make one! Looking back, I acknowledge that this was only possible with the trust of the parents who walked the journey together, and I feel hugely indebted to them.
As globalization accelerates there are many Japanese corporations adopting English as the official language or setting TOEIC standards for employment. English is become indispensable and this trend will continue. When our children reach adulthood in a couple of decades they will be sitting in their interview waiting rooms with Chinese, Korean, American and British nationals. “I’m good at English” will no longer get you very far. They need to be able to answer the question, “What can you do with your English?”
Since opening the school many children have graduated and move onto their next phase in life. The first graduates are turning 18. They are all fully bilingual. Children grow with the environment and it is us parents’ job to provide them with that environment. Please come and visit our school to see our environment for yourselves.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Authorization
In April 2015 Kansai International Academy Kobe Campus was authorized as an IB World School.We have now become the only school in the world offering the PYP in Japanese. Furthermore, our bilingual curriculum where all students study the core subjects areas (language, mathematics, social studies, and sciences) in both English and Japanese is extremely rare even around the world and is sure to receive much interest from hereon.
As of April 2015 there are at least 1245 PYP schools in the world, including 332 in the Asia Pacific region and 17 in Japan. There are at least 4108 IB World Schools. Through inquiry-based learning, KIA is committed to raising leaders with the Learner Profile traits below who can succeed in the global society.
